What you record
Enter the date the landlord was notified, then record what you find in each room, with a moisture reading, the likely cause, any work needed and up to 10 photos you can mark up. Say whether the home is substantially free from damp and mould and whether repair work is required. The app works out the dates the law sets, counting Scottish working days.
For housing officers, surveyors and repairs staff answering a report of damp or mould in a rented home in Scotland. The regulations it refers to, the Investigation and Commencement of Repair (Scotland) Regulations 2026, are in force from 6 October 2026. Enter the date the landlord was notified and the app works out the dates that follow, leaving out a social landlord’s own local holidays where they apply.
The report opens with the written summary for the tenant, and the summary can also be made on its own to send. The app keeps a history of changes to the key dates.
