In brief

  • siteverity.com doesn’t set any cookies, so there’s no cookie banner.
  • We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It stores nothing on your device and doesn’t keep your IP address.
  • You can turn it off with the button under How to turn it off, which saves a small note in your browser to remember your choice. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it’s off already.
  • The SiteVerity app is covered by our privacy policy.

Cookies on this website

Cookies are small files that websites save in your browser. siteverity.com doesn’t set any. The only thing it saves in your browser is a small note if you turn off analytics, so that it remembers your choice. There are no adverts, no tracking and no social media buttons, and the website doesn’t load anything from other companies apart from Cloudflare’s analytics script.

Cloudflare, which hosts our website, may set a short-lived security cookie if it needs to check that your browser is genuine, for example while the site is under attack. That cookie only protects the site, and the law allows it without asking you first.

How we count visits

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages people visit and how quickly they load, so we can improve the website.

When a page loads, our website adds a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com, unless you’ve turned analytics off or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. The script reads timing information from your browser, such as how long the page took to appear, and sends it to Cloudflare with the address of the page and of the website you came from. Cloudflare also notes your country and your type of browser and device, worked out from the request.

It doesn’t recognise you or follow you around the web:

  • it doesn’t use cookies, and it doesn’t store anything on your device;
  • it doesn’t use fingerprinting or any other way of identifying you;
  • Cloudflare drops your IP address at its nearest data centre and doesn’t store it;
  • it counts a visit when you arrive from another website or follow a direct link, not by recognising you.

We see only totals, such as page views, visits, the websites people came from, countries, browsers and devices, and how fast pages load. Cloudflare processes this for us, keeps detailed data for 7 days and keeps summaries for up to 6 months.

UK law allows this kind of measurement without asking for your consent, as long as it’s used only for statistics that help us improve the website, we tell you about it and you have a simple, free way to object: the button in the next section.

How to turn it off

Use the button below to turn off Cloudflare Web Analytics in this browser. Your choice applies to this browser only, and takes effect from the next page you open. We save a small note in your browser to remember it, and use the note for nothing else. If you clear this website’s data from your browser, the note goes too, and analytics comes back on.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don’t load the analytics script at all.

You can also block static.cloudflareinsights.com in your browser, network or device settings, or use a content blocker. Many block Cloudflare’s analytics script by default. The website works normally either way.

The SiteVerity app

The app doesn’t use cookies. It stores your work and a few settings on your device so that it can work offline and keep you signed in. Our privacy policy explains what the app stores and why.

Changes and contact

If we change how we measure visits, we’ll update this statement and the date at the top.
