Who it’s for
- Building surveyors and roofing specialists inspecting roofs
- Housing and property managers investigating leaks
- Surveyors checking a roof after repairs or before a purchase
What you record
Describe the roof once: its form, how you inspected it, whether from the ground, a ladder or a drone, and how it drains. Then record each defect against its roof area with a defect code, evidence of water ingress, a priority, the action, any access constraint and up to 10 photos you can mark up. Pin each defect to a plan of the roof as you go.
For roof-only inspections of pitched, flat and sheeted roofs, whether it’s a leak investigation, a maintenance review or a check after repairs. You describe the roof’s form, access and drainage once, and every defect after that is recorded against its roof area.
Each defect takes a code from a set list, such as defective flashing or ponding, and records any evidence of water ingress. The report pulls the urgent actions into their own section, and shows each pinned defect beside a plan of the roof.
What the report contains
- A cover with your logo and colours
- Contents and a summary table of every issue
- A priority key explaining High, Medium and Low, with indicative timescales
- An urgent actions section for high-priority defects
- Each defect with its water ingress evidence, action and any access constraint, its photos, numbered and dated, and a plan where you've pinned it
- Your name and signature where the report is signed off
