This article covers adding photos to a record, marking them up, and uploading floor plans so you can pin records to them.

Adding photos

  1. Open a record.
  2. Tap Take photo to use the camera, or Choose photos to pick from your photo library. You can choose several at once.

A record holds up to 10 photos, and it shows how many you’ve added, for example “0 of 10 photos”. A finding on a fire door inspection holds up to 4.

Each photo shows its upload state, and shows “Annotated” once you’ve marked it up.

SiteVerity removes location and other metadata from your photos.

To add a caption, tap Add caption under the photo, type up to 200 characters and tap Save. The caption is printed under the photo in the report. To change it, tap Edit caption, and leave it empty for no caption. Photos on fire door findings don’t have their own caption.

In reports, each photo is numbered and shows your caption, if it has one, and the date it was taken (“Taken …”). If that date isn’t known, it shows the date it was added (“Added …”).

To add a photo for the whole project, which shows on the project list, tap Add project photo on the project screen.

Marking up a photo

  1. Tap a photo. It opens full screen.
  2. Choose a tool: Select, Arrow, Rectangle, Circle, Freehand or Text.
  3. Pick one of 8 colours and one of 3 line widths.
  4. Draw on the photo. Freehand works with Apple Pencil or your finger.

Pinch to zoom in for detail, and drag with two fingers to move around. The zoom button shows how far you’ve zoomed, and tapping it zooms in or back out.

With Select, tap a shape to select it, then drag it to move it. To resize a rectangle, circle or arrow, drag one of its handles. To change or remove a shape, select it, then edit or delete it. Undo and redo let you step back and forward.

When you’ve finished, tap Save. If you leave with changes you haven’t saved, SiteVerity asks whether to discard them.

Each photo can have up to 50 shapes, and each text label can be up to 120 characters.

In reports, the markup is flattened into the photo.

Uploading a floor plan

Floor plans are available on every template except the Fire Door Inspection and the SHQS Assessment. On roof inspections the section is called Roof plans, and each plan has a drawing name, such as Church and hall roofs, in place of a floor label. Otherwise it works the same way.

  1. On the project screen, tap Add floor plan in the Floor plans section (Add roof plan on a roof inspection).
  2. Give the plan a floor label, such as Ground floor.
  3. Tap Choose file to pick a PDF, JPEG, PNG or HEIC file up to 25 MB, or Photo library to use a picture from your photos.
  4. If your PDF has more than one page, pick the page you want.
  5. On Crop floor plan, drag the corner handles to crop the plan, or tap Use full page. For a PDF, Choose another page takes you back to the page list.
  6. Tap Save.

You can’t re-crop a plan after it’s uploaded, so take care with the crop.

Using a floor plan

Open a plan from the Floor plans section to see it with its numbered pins. Pinch to zoom.

  • Tap a pin to open its record.
  • Tap the plan to add a new record pinned to that spot.
  • To rename or remove the plan, tap Manage plan, then Rename plan or Delete plan. Clear or move any pins on the plan before you delete it.

Pinning a record to a plan

You can also pin a record from inside it.

  1. In the record, tap Pin issue. The button uses the template’s word for a record, such as Pin item or Pin snag.
  2. Place the pin on the plan.
  3. Tap Confirm pin.

To change a pin later, open the record and tap Move pin. To remove it, tap Clear pin.
